This is a one-off original artwork in acrylic and gold leaf on canvas.
This artwork is inspired by the colours of Bass Strait. It's made in a time where I was working in high contrasting colours. Our individual sensitivity to contrast changes how we perceive a colour, causing us to experience colours differently, depending on our individual brains and collective cultures.
This effect is especially strong with colours that differ greatly in reflectiveness, like white, gold and blue. In this series I explore the topic of subjectivity and individual experience.
